1. Acceptance of terms #
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PlayCourse LMS plugin, website, customer dashboard, and related services (collectively, the "Services") provided by PlayCourse Ltd ("PlayCourse", "we", "us"). By creating an account, installing the plugin, or purchasing a license, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" refers to that organization.
2. Definitions #
- "Plugin" means the PlayCourse software, including the free core plugin and PlayCourse Pro.
- "License" means a paid subscription that entitles you to activate PlayCourse Pro on a defined number of Sites.
- "Site" means a single WordPress installation identified by a unique domain on which Pro is activated.
- "Content" means courses, lessons, media, and other materials you create or upload using the Services.
3. Accounts & eligibility #
You must be at least 16 years old and provide accurate registration information. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Licenses & activations #
A License grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use PlayCourse Pro on up to the number of Sites included in your plan tier. Activations are tracked per domain through your customer dashboard.
4.1 Deauthorization
You may deauthorize a Site at any time to free an activation for use elsewhere. Deauthorizing a Site disables Pro features on that installation at the next license check.
4.2 Updates & support
An active License includes access to plugin updates and support for its term. When a License lapses, your Content continues to function, but you will no longer receive updates, new features, or support, and certain Pro features may pause after the grace period.
5. Billing & subscriptions #
Licenses are billed in advance on an annual or monthly basis through our payment processors (including Stripe and WooCommerce). By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current rate unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- Upgrades. When you upgrade tiers mid-term, we charge a prorated difference for the remaining term and your renewal date is unchanged.
- Taxes. Prices exclude applicable VAT or sales tax, which is added at checkout where required.
6. Refunds #
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on new License purchases. Renewals and prorated upgrade charges are handled as described in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
7. Acceptable use #
You agree not to use the Services to: (a) distribute malware or infringing content; (b) resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Plugin outside the terms of your License; (c) circumvent license checks or activation limits; or (d) violate any applicable law. We may suspend Services for violations.
8. Intellectual property #
The Plugin and Services, including all software, trademarks, and documentation, are owned by PlayCourse and protected by intellectual-property laws. The free core plugin is distributed under the GPL; PlayCourse Pro is licensed, not sold, under these Terms. You retain all rights to your Content — we claim no ownership over the courses you build.
9. Disclaimer of warranties #
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every third-party plugin or theme.
10. Limitation of liability #
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PlayCourse will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total aggregate liability arising out of the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
11. Termination #
You may close your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use PlayCourse Pro ends, though provisions that by their nature should survive (including IP, disclaimers, and liability limits) will remain in effect.
12. Changes & contact #
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or an in-dashboard notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
